Creation of a new, signature corporate headquarters facility for an expanding non-profit company whose mission it is to bring engaging outdoor activities to under privileged students. The primary activities focus upon canoeing and kayaking in the warm weather and snowboarding and skiing in the winter. The building is located within the new Scioto River greenway currently under construction, and represents the first effort to populate the 2.5 mile long west bank with activity at water level. Since regulations will not allow occupied space to be constructed within the floodway, the entire building is built upon posts allowing the building to be accessed from the top of the floodwall via a boardwalk which traces the path of the former Rich Street Bridge. Patrons enter a 2-story lobby at the Livery Level where hands-on instruction is conducted and boats are stored to be lowered to the floating dock below. Student classes are held adjacent to their locker facilities on the next Event Level which also contains rental space for parties and corporate retreats. The Event Level is connected to the upper Office Level containing the Hero USA corporate offices and gourmet restaurant tenant with upper Roof Level dining with spectacular views of the Columbus Ohio Skyline.
